RIP Valora Noland

Valor Baum, aka Valora Tree, died on March 27, 2022 in Sebastopol, CA where she lived for many years.
She was born in Seattle Washington on Dec 8, 1941, the day after Pearl Harbor.
Her mother, Abby Beveridge Baum, also known as Gloria Baum, named her daughter Valor, inspired by a speech by Winston Churchill she was listening to on the radio just before Valora was born in which he used the word Valor.
Valora's father was Franz Baum, Sr, a distinguished painter in the German Expressionist school.
The family moved from Seattle to the Santa Cruz Mountains in 1943. During the ensuing years Valora became a skilled equestrian, owning and training a number of horses throughout her life.
In 1959, she decided to become an actor and enrolled in the Pasadena playhouse to study acting. During that time, she chose the stage name, Valora Noland as her stage name and moved to Hollywood.
Valora's film career included roles in The Rifleman, Beach Party, Muscle Beach party, The Donna Reed Show, and War Wagon with John Wayne and Kirk Douglas. she also had several guest roles in the following TV shows, The Man from Uncle, The Virginian, Star Trek and Mannix.
Later on, Valora left show business and became an accomplished photographer, contributing to a number of exhibitions in Sonoma County where she lived, as well as numerous other venues.
She also wrote two books, Horse Stories and Water Lily Ponds. a volume of poetry.
Her beauty, creativity and vibrant spirt left many gifts for so many people to enjoy.
She is survived by her brother, Franz Baum, her sister, Ziska Baum, her niece Arlene Baum and her nephews Carl, Stan , Eric and David.
