Farewell to actress and TV presenter Catherine Spaak. She died at the age of 77 in a Roman clinic. She had been ill for some time, in 2020 she had been suffering from a brain hemorrhage. Also a dancer and singer, Spaak was born in France, in Boulogne-Billancourt on April 3, 1945 from a Belgian family. A naturalized Italian, in our country she was famous in the sixties and seventies. She made her debut in Italian cinema when she was just 15 years old, when she starred in the film 'Dolci inganni' by Alberto Lattuada. Success was just around the corner and came with films of the caliber of Luciano Salce's 'La voglia matta' and Dino Risi's 'Il sorpasso'.
With her elegance, she became a style model for the Italian girls of the time. Very active in the cinema, she also starred in Mario Monicelli's 'L'armata Brancaleone' and 'Febbre da cavallor' directed by Steno. Her multifaceted talent also emerged in her singing career: she recorded a cover of 'Tous les garçons et les filles' by Françoise Hardy and the famous ' L'esercito del surf'. Catherine also conquered the small screen over the years. She was host of the TV program 'Forum' in the eighties and above all the face of 'Harem' and 'Carosello', as well as having taken part in the soap opera 'Un posto al sole', in the TV series 'Un medico in famiglia 8' and 'Dancing with the Stars' in 2007.
In private life, Spaak was married 4 times. The first of her in the sixties with Fabrizio Capucci, they met on the set of the film 'La voglia matta' from which she had a daughter, Sabrina. Later, from 1972 to 1979 she married Johnny Dorelli, with whom she had another son, Gabriele. The actress also has two other marriages, with the architect Daniele Rey, from 1993 to 2010, and three years later with Vladimiro Tuselli, whom she left in 2020.
Among the first to comment on her death, the Minister of Culture, Dario Franceschini, who wrote in a note: "I am painfully aware of the death of Catherine Spaak, a multifaceted, cultured and elegant artist who has found a home in our country that 'she welcomed and loved. I cling to family and friends on this sad day".
