East German actor Heinz Behrens died at the age of 89
Actor Heinz Behrens has died at the age of 89. He became known in particular with the DFF film series Maxe Baumann, in which he played the role of Horst Baumann alongside Gerd E. Schäfer.
The actor Heinz Behrens is dead. As MDR AKTUELL learned from the family, Behrens died on Tuesday at the age of 89.
Behrens was born on September 30, 1932 in Grünberg in Silesia – in Zielona Góra, Poland today. After studying in Halle, he first played on theater stages in Rostock, Erfurt and Dessau. In 1960 he appeared on the big screen for the first time in the television production "Love at first sight". A year later he became part of the acting ensemble of the GDR television station DFF (Deutscher Fernsehenfunk).
Best-known television role: son of Maxe Baumann
He
is best known for his role as Horst Baumann in the DFF film series "Maxe
Baumann", played by Gerd E. Schäfer, and for leading and supporting roles
in more than 20 productions by the Moritzburg television theatre. After the
fall of communism in 1989, he returned to the theater with renewed strength. He
undertook tours with Manfred Krug and Heidi Kabel, among others. From 2002 to
2010 Heinz Behrens was a member of the Musikalische Komödie Berlin.
