Anthony Armand Acchione, Jr., more well known as Tony Devon, was a life-long entertainer. Shortly after beginning as a regular on Dick Clark’s Band Stand, Tony found himself as lead singer in a series of Doo Wop singing groups in the Fifties and early Sixties, and then moving to rock groups in the remaining Sixties and early Seventies. It was around this time that he adopted his stage name “Tony Devon”. This particular period was interrupted by his being drafted into the Army. He spent a short stay on assignment on Korea. Tony auditioned and got a position in the Army Special Services where he spent his remaining service days traveling the world and performing for the Army troops. His post-Army days were spent in forming his career as a solo singing and recording artist. He ultimately blended his singing talents into acting in off Broadway productions such as “The Fantasticks” and a two-year stint as a singing opening act for comedian Rodney Dangerfield in New York, an act which included impressions of other singers. His acting career spanned many genres, but he most enjoyed and felt best playing an Italian mobster or a hardcore detective with his sleeves rolled up. Tony had many projects in the works which he would never get to finish. He was well-known, well-respected and much loved in the screen industry, as is evident were you to look at his Facebook page after the announcement of his death. He will be sadly missed by many. He is survived by his brother Joh
