RIP Kenneth Ives

 

Kenneth Ives (26 March 1934 – 6 March 2022) the British actor turned television director has died.

As an actor, he appeared in the 1968 film The Lion in Winter as Queen Eleanor's guard, the 1971 BBC serial The Last of the Mohicans as Hawkeye, also appearing in Adam Adamant Lives!, The First Churchills and in the Doctor Who story The Dominators.

In later years, he turned to the other side of the camera, directing Strindlberg’s The Father, Pinter’s The Birthday Party, also episodes of Poldark, Gangsters, Softly, Softly: Taskforce, All Creatures Great and Small, Secret Army, etc.

He was married to Imogen Hassall (1974-1978) and Marti Caine (1984-1995)
