Enzo Sciotti, famous illustrator of horror movie posters, died on 11 April 2021 at the age of 76. Sciotti was particularly known for having created the covers of several Italian comics of the seventies and eighties and for the artistic works dedicated to film posters and home-video editions.
The news of Enzo Sciotti's death was made official through his Instagram account, where the following message was posted: "Hello to all virtual friends, from today I will no longer be able to show you my posters, of which I am so proud, it is It was a pleasure and an honor to interact with all of you. I flew away and I hold you all in my heart. See you next life . " Known for having created the illustrations behind the poster of Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness, Enzo Sciotti used his Instagram profile as an art gallery.
Recently, the artist has curated the covers of the media books for the Midnight Classics line of Midnight Factory, a brand that brings to the home-video market of the main cult horror films. His works include The Horror Tunnel, Phantasm, The Fly - Film Collection and Stephen King - Film Collection.
The high point of his career, however, was reached through the collaboration with Lucio Fulci, for which he illustrated the poster of ... And you will live in terror! The afterlife and that villa next to the cemetery. Also famous is the artwork created for the blue velvet and Phenomena poster by David Lynch and Dario Argento.
