RIP Angelo Nicotra

Actor and voice actor Angelo Nicotra has died
 

He was the official voice of Morgan Freeman and Mr. Potato, had worked in the series ‘The Marshal Rocca’ and ‘Carabinieri’

Angelo Nicotra, Italian actor, dubber, dialogue writer and director of dubbing, died at the age of 75. He was the brother of the director Giancarlo Nicotra. He is remembered for having lent the voice in Italy to Morgan Freeman (for whom he became the main dubber after the retirement of Renato Mori), to actors such as John Travolta (Blow Out), Christopher Lambert (Greystoke - The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the monkeys) and animated characters such as Mr. Potato in the four Toy Story films.

He made his debut as a child in the 1950s in the films Sunday of the Good People and The Haunted House and then as an adult he worked in the TV series Carabinieri and Il maresciallo Rocca. He was the dubbing director for films such as: Monty Python - The Meaning of Life, Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves (DVD redubbing), as well as TV series such as Boston Legal and A Journey Through Time.
