City-- Actress Susana Dosamantes died on Saturday at the age of 74, according
to various media reports. Dosamantes was the mother of Mexican singer Paulina
Rubio.
Sources
close to the family have indicated that her death occurred in a Miami hospital.
In
April she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and hospitalized at Mount Sinai
Medical Center in the city of Miami.
Susana
Dosamantes made her film debut in 1968 with the film Remolino de pasiones and
later she also dedicated herself to theater and television, where she would be
especially known for her roles in soap operas.
In
1969, she married the Spanish lawyer Enrique Rubio González, with whom she had
two children, the singer Paulina and Enrique Rubio, separating in 1974.
Her
second marriage was with the Spanish businessman and audiovisual producer
Carlos Vasallo Tomé, whom she divorced in 1988. Her last marriage was with Luis
Rivas.
Dosamantes
