This Wednesday night, the death of Federico Villa was reported at the
age of 84 and who was considered one of the great icons of ranchera music; he was an interpreter of the popular melody "Caminos de Michoacán" . So
far the causes of his death are unknown.
It was the senator from Michoacán , Antonio García , who announced the
unfortunate news through his Twitter account: "Federico Villa, gave voice
to Caminos de #Michoacán. We all got goosebumps with his interpretation. That
in Rest in peace this idol of ranchera music".
Originally from Zamora, Michoacán, Federico Villa was a regional music
singer with a career spanning more than 40 years. Since he was a child he knew that he wanted to dedicate himself to
this profession and did not hesitate to get down to work; he fought
his way into a radio contest, won, and never backed down.
Like many artists of the time, he was not satisfied with the
microphone and sought fame in the cameras. That was how he made his acting
debut in the movie "Nobody's Daughter", the first of many more. It
was in 1982 when he could be seen next to Joan
Sebastian in "The blood of our race".
As for the song "Caminos de Michoacán" it is the
authorship of Bulmaro Bermúdez who was his compadre. However, the first interpreter of the famous melody
was him; Years later a movie with the same name would be made.
Federico Villa had so much
love for music that he did not stop working; However, the pandemic
affected him a lot, since he took him away from the stage as presentations were
not allowed. This forced him to migrate to the social networks where he
presented his projects.
