One of the benchmarks in Spanish video game dubbing, Jordi Varela, has recently passed away. The actor was known for giving life to the famous Professor Layton, among many other characters.

Today we are witnessing sad news for the national panorama of the video game industry. One of his most distinguished voice actors in our country has passed away. We are talking about Jordi Varela, one of the voices that filled the childhoods of many players.

Today, one of Professor Layton's fan accounts @LaytonEn has confirmed the terrible news that has quickly spread through the community and the fandom of this saga, where many have fondly remembered Varela.

And, of course, Jordi's voice has always been very recognizable thanks to the fact that he gave life to one of the most mythical characters in recent video game history.

This actor has been the voice in Spanish of Professor Hershel Layton, the protagonist of the Nintendo saga that made us bite our nails and give our brains a spin solving its mysteries for many years on Nintendo DS and 3DS.

In addition, Jordi Varela participated in a number of productions within the world of video games for several decades.

Some of his most important works were in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes giving voice to the mythical Stan Lee, in Dying Light as Jared and he has participated in projects such as Alien Colonial Marines, Vanquish or Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn.

Among his most recent dubs stands out that of Dying Light 2 , LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga giving voice to the Pau'ano Tion Medon and additional voices to many other characters or that of the successful Lost Ark giving voice to Luterra.
