Carmen Carrión, a prominent actress in Jess Franco's film and uncovering, has died. A participant in the recent documentary 'Wild Session', the interpreter of ''Camino solitario' and ''Mil sexos tiene la noche' died months ago

The actress Carmen Carrión has passed away. The screenwriter, producer and director Julio César Sánchez has reported the death of the veteran interpreter, which would have happened months ago without any kind of public significance. Carrión was one of the most prominent actresses in what became known as the "uncover" films during the 1980s in Spain. Especially long-lasting and outstanding was her collaboration with the director Jesús ‘Jess’ Franco. She subsequently devoted herself to jobs related to production.

Carrión began her acting career in the early 1970s, joining the new trend of comic and genre cinema that was emerging in Spain. She began with small roles in films such as Ligeramente viudas (Javier Aguirre, 1975), Tiempos duros para Drácula (Jorge Darnell, 1976) or the outstanding Carne beaten Carne apaleada (Javier Aguirre, 1978). But it was already in the 80s when he became one of the usual faces in the films of the so-called "uncover" with Pero Los ritos sexuales del diablo (José Ramón Larraz, 1982) o Mi conejos es el mejor (Ricardo Palacios, 1982).

Her numerous collaborations with the filmmaker Jess Franco and his fetish actress Lina Romay are especially remembered among fans of Spanish genre cinema. Carmen Carrión worked with Franco in works such as Emmanuele's unspeakable orgies (1982), El hotel de los ligues (1983), Camino solitario, Historia sexual de O o Mil sexos tiene la noche (1984). En esa década también she also had time to work with Ozores, Pajares and Esteso in La Lola nos lleva al huerto (1984).

Once she left acting at the end of the 80s, Carmen Carrión did not abandon the cinema and dedicated herself to different tasks behind the cameras, especially production and script assistant jobs. She recently appeared again in a film: Wild Session (Paco Limón and Julio César Sánchez, 2019), a documentary dedicated to Spanish genre cinema in which she remembered that in Franco's films she often did not know which film she was shooting or exactly which character she was interpreting.
