Actor Tord Peterson has died, 94 years old, his daughter tells Dagens Nyheter.

Peterson is best known for his role as Ivar Pettersson in the "Änglagård" films.

- It's very sad. But I am extremely happy to have worked with him and that I got to know him, says Lena Endre.

Tord Peterson died in his home in Skåne, surrounded by his family after a short illness. He turned 94 years old.

Like many other actors of his generation, he began his career on the theater stage in the mid-1950s, but quickly became an actor in Swedish film.

He was active as an actor for over 50 years, from 1956 until 2013 when he shot his last film, "The Foam Hour".

- We feel very happy to have had him with us for so long. He has filled our lives with joy and a lot of witty and quirky antics. We feel very lucky and will miss him very much, says daughter Katarina Tordsdotter to DN.

In "Änglagård" he played against Rikard Wolff, who passed away in 2017, and Sven Wollter, who passed away in the autumn after suffering from covid-19.

Lena Endre played against Tord Peterson several times during his career. The first time was in the 90s with the performance "Peer Gynt" at Dramaten. They also played in Ingmar Bergaman's short series "The Good Will" from 1991.

- The last time was in Daniel Alfredson's "The Foam Hour". It's very sad. But I am extremely happy to have worked with him and that I got to know him, says Lena Endre and continues:

- I will remember his kindness and his way of being a colleague. His low-key humor, he was great to play with. He was a wonderful person.

Helena Bergström: "One of our biggest"

He also played against Helena Bergström, who praises Peterson's efforts in front of the camera and on stage.

- As an actor, Tord is one of our greatest. I just wish we had seen him in more major roles. He had such tremendous warmth, integrity and professionalism. I know that he has done a lot for the theater and worked hard, but unfortunately never got that public impact because he did not do any major lead roles, she tells DN.

In addition to "Änglagård", Tord Peterson has also participated in, among other things, "Popular music from Vittula", and made the voice of Pettson in "Pettson and Findus".

Tord Peterson was married to actress Ulla Blomstrand, 83.
