Actress Hermina Pipinić died in Zagreb a few days ago at the age of 93.

She played her most famous and last role in 1997 in the last season of Smogovac, in which she played the mother of the main character, Melita Vragec.

She was born in Zagreb on May 1, 1928, where she attended acting school. Her film debut was a supporting role in Milionima na otoku (Millions on the Island), while she experienced a turning point in her career with the 1958 film Cesta duga godinu dana (The Long Road).

She has made more than fifty films (Breza, Akcija stadion, Živjeti od ljubavi, Večernja zvona, Gosti iz galaksije, Obiteljski album…), her roles in the cult series Dirigenti i mužikaši, Nikola

After retiring, she withdrew from the public eye.

"The two of us were inseparable during the filming. At that time we were also neighbors in Zagreb's Knežija and a van would pick us up every morning at six in the morning to take us to the filming. Even so early she was a well-groomed, made-up, a real lady. Everyone. treated her with respect. She was the mother of the Smogs. Modest, warm, kind, dear, calm. She chose a quiet life after she no longer filmed, she withdrew and, unfortunately, I never saw her again, "she told Slobodna, Dalmatia Slavica Knezevic who played Sonja in the series.

"One beautiful and warm woman. Self-effacing, and at the same time witty. Very pleasant, decent and great acting partner. I was glad to have her for my mother-in-law in the series," said Višnja Babić, director of the Zagreb theater Trešnja i Dunja from Smogovac.
