RIP Tino Geiser


The outstanding Argentine composer Tino Geiser died at the age of 75.

He worked in film and television in addition to collaborating with renowned artists such as Juan Gabriel, Emmanuel or Lupita D'Alessio.

Argentine composer and arranger Tino Geiser passed away, leaving a musical legacy for artists such as Emmanuel, Guadalupe Pineda and Alberto Cortez.

The news was confirmed by the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico: “I regret the sensitive death of maestro Tino Geiser. Composer, arranger, pianist and music director ”, signed its President, Armando Manzanero, in a publication on social networks.
Born in Santa Fé, Argentina, on November 10, 1944, Agustín Sexto Fagiolani Geiser, studied piano and composition at the Escuela Superior de Música de Santa Fe, and later Composition at the Conservatorio Nacional de Buenos Aires.

Among his most recognized works,  I love you, I have not been me, I think of you, This hurts me more than you , or  Sola, in addition to the work for about fifty films or soap operas such as Lo blanco y lo negro , Amor en silencio y The strange ways of love .
In his role as musical director, Tino Geiser arranged for festivals and plays,
including  Never on Sunday  and  What a sitter . In addition, he worked alongside dozens of musicians as arranger, pianist and director, accompanying Emmanuel, Lupita D'Alessio, Juan Gabriel, Pablo Milanés, Guadalupe Pineda, Diego Verdaguer, Amanda Miguel, María José, Yuridia, Menudo, Magneto, Paulina Rubio , Yuri, Mijares, Pandora, José Luis Perales, Raphael, Paloma San Basilio  Alberto Vázquez, César Costa, Manoella Torres and Espinoza Paz, to name a few.

In his musical career he received some distinctions, among which the Kawakami Award for Best Musical Arrangement for “You've Gotta Have Someone” at the 1981 Yamaha Song Festival in Japan, as well as the recognition of the 25 Years of Society Path of Authors and Composers of Mexico in 2019.

Friends of the music industry have expressed their condolences, including producer Armando Ávila, as well as singers Manoella Torres, Miguel Inzunza and Guadalupe Pineda.
