The dubbing actor Jörg Hengstler has died. He was best known among anime fans as the German voice of Kogoro Mori from “Detective Conan”.

The actor and voice actor Jörg Hengstler is dead. This emerges from an Instagram story published today by his speaker colleague Peter Flechtner. The speaker, born in 1956, had been working in the German dubbing industry since the 1990s. The German dubbing index counts 1,294 speaking roles under his entry.

The German anime fan community will remember him above all for his signature role - that of the spoiled private detective Kogoro Mori from “Detective Conan”. Hengstler lent his unmistakable voice to the character for over 20 years since the series premiered in Germany in 2002.
