This Friday (3/11), actress Elizangela, who became famous by acting in TV Globo soap operas, such as Força do Querer and A Dona do Pedaço, died at the age of 68. The artist, who was living in Guapimirim, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, was rescued after a cardiorespiratory arrest, but did not resist.
According to the Guapimirim City Hall, the artist fell ill and was admitted to the José Rabello de Mello Municipal Hospital with a cardiorespiratory arrest, after being attended by Samu. The team attempted resuscitation, to no avail.
"The Municipality of Guapimirim regrets the death of
the consecrated actress. This is the second time that the municipality's health
system has treated Elizangela. In the first, Elizangela was admitted to the
unit with severe respiratory problems, and after a few weeks, she was
discharged from the unit," read a statement from the agency.
Last year, Elizangela was hospitalized in the same municipality, in serious condition, with respiratory sequelae from Covid-19, needing to be intubated. The unit's press office stated that the artist was radically against vaccination and that she had not taken any dose of the immunizer.
