Actor James "Jimmy" Ning, recognizable to Breaking Bad fans for his recurring role on the show, has died. The news was broken by Mitchell & Associates Talent in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Breaking Bad was filmed and employed many of the city's local talent. A specific cause of death wasn't revealed for Ning, and it's unclear as of press time how old the actor was. A memorial service is said to be in the planning stages.

"It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our beloved actor James 'Jimmy' Ning passed away on Tuesday, November 29 in Albuquerque, New Mexico," the announcement reads. "Jimmy was best known for his recurring fan-favorite role of 'Mr. Duane Chow' on Breaking Bad. As a veteran stage and screen character actor, he had memorable roles in The Ridiculous 6 (2015) and Perception (2012), among many others."

The post adds, "Jimmy loved to pop in our office to bring his residual checks on a monthly basis, and while always apologizing for the 'small' checks, he always came bearing gifts, whether it was Breaking Bad fan art or his own drawings, which we cherish."

Duane Chow, played by Ning, was featured in seasons 3 and 5 of Breaking Bad. He is an associate of Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) and Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), having some notable scenes with the latter. In season 3, Chow is rescued by Mike when the character is held hostage by the cartel; in one memorable moment, he uses his raised hands to let Mike know where to aim his gun. Chow returns in season 5 when the character is again taken hostage with Mike coming to his rescue. While Mike arrived too late to save Chow this time, he gets vengeance by shooting Chow's killer.

Per IMDb, Ning has also appeared in the TV movies Doc West and Triggerman as well as the TV series Perception. He had roles in the films The Ridiculous 6 and Sun Belt Express as well as the short film Assassin Emeritus. The actor was also featured in Eric Church's music video for "Give Me Back My Hometown" and appeared in local commercials in New Mexico.

According to Mitchell & Associates Talent, Ning's survivors include family members Kari, Kylie, Mason, Jason, and Natasha. Our thoughts go out to them at this painful time. Rest in peace, Jimmy Ning.
