Actress Gina Romand, from the golden age of Mexican cinema, died

Renowned actress Gina Romand, remembered for her performances in the so-called Golden Age of Mexican cinema and in various telenovelas, died at age 84 on Saturday, December 3.

The death of the artist was confirmed by her son Gabriel Varela through a message he published on Twitter, along with a photograph.

"With all my pain, I say goodbye to my mother, Gina Romand, who always enlightened my life. Now he rests in peace illuminating the sky with his eternal brightness. I will miss you always and love you forever. Rest easy, my 'Blonde of category', "said Varela, also an actor and theater director.

Actress Chantal Andere commented on Varela's post: "I embrace you with all my heart. You were an extraordinary son and I am a witness to it. I love you very much," while actor Edgar Vivar wrote: "A hug from the heart, dear Gabriel, in the end we always have hope."

Days ago, Varela had reported on his social networks that his mother was hospitalized and remained in intensive care. Then, when she had a slight improvement, the actress was transferred to the intermediate therapy room. It was not specified what disease he suffered.

Gina Romand gained fame for her performance in films such as 'Yo soy muy macho', 'La Bandida', where she was with María Félix and Pedro Armendáriz, and 'Entrega Inmediato', where she shared with the legendary Mario Moreno 'Cantinflas'. The actress also stood out on the small screen in her roles in soap operas such as 'Valeria y Maximiliano', 'El amor no es como lo pintan' and 'Amor en custodia'.

"Remembered for her participation in several films such as 'Gavilán o Paloma', for which she was awarded the Ariel Award in 1986. To his family and friends we send our condolences," the National Association of Interpreters (ANDI) wrote on Twitter.
