RIP Lilia Aragón

Actress Lilia Aragón, a Televisa figure, died at the age of 82

With 55 years of experience in the national show, the veteran interpreter lost her life this Monday, as reported by ANDA

This Monday afternoon, the death of the first actress Lilia Aragón, an emblematic figure of Mexican entertainment, was announced. This was announced by ANDA:

“The National Association of Actors deeply regrets the death of our colleague Lilia Aragón del Rivero, who was General Secretary of our union during the 2006-2010 period. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest in Peace”, reads a Twitter message from the association currently led by Jesús Ochoa.

 

With 55 years of experience, the veteran actress died at the age of 82 without revealing at the time the cause of the death that presumably occurred in Cuernavaca, Morelos. The first reports about her death indicate that the interpreter presented complications of the digestive system  however no further information has been revealed.

The actress had dedicated her last years to the union affairs of the union, and even confronted the also interpreter Cynthia Klitbo for union affairs of the ANDA, in controversial statements in the media, the actresses were accused of corruption.

Born in Cuautla Morelos on September 22, 1938, Lilia developed a career founded on the theatrical tables, but it was only on the television network that she achieved great popularity for her performances in other stories such as Angelitos Negros, from 1970, Pueblo chico, big hell, from 1997; Rubí , from 2004 and the new version of Simply María , in 2016.

 

In cinema he also had remembered participations in dozens of films, among them The Memories of the Future, from 1964; The perfect woman, in 1977; Poison for the fairies, 1984 and City without law, 1990, among others.

Lilia Aragón also had an interest in politics, being Elba Esther Gordillo's alternate deputy in the LIX Legislature, from August 29, 2003 to August 31, 2006 for the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). In addition, he collaborated as a scriptwriter in different comic strips for Editorial Posada such as Duda, from 1971 and Professor Planeta, from 1974.

Among her hobbies, she highlighted collecting antiques, which she treasured in the house that she built with her late husband Guillermo Mendizábal Lizalde, a building that "at that time was a hill and was part of a real estate development, very far from Mexico City.”, He told TVNotas in 2011.

 

“I have always liked (antiques), because they have a story to tell. There are furniture, lamps, lacquers, lamps, paintings and altarpieces from the 18th and 19th centuries. Do not think that they are expensive, in truth, I have found many of them in poor condition, during my trips to different countries, and I have had them restored with artisans and specialists, because I must have them well, "he then told the publication.
