VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - California Highway Patrol reported a motorcyclist died after a crash involving two other vehicles east of Port Hueneme on Sunday.

The crash happened around 2:07 p.m. on Hueneme Road east of Edison Drive.

The victim was reportedly riding a 1986 Harley Davidson eastbound on Hueneme Road. At the same time, a Nissan sedan was also traveling eastbound in front of the bike.

At one point, the motorcyclist decided to try and pass the Nissan, however, at the same time the Nissan made a left turn in an attempt to park on the north side of the road.

The motorcycle ultimately crashed into the Nissan causing the motorcyclist to lose control and collide with the road.

The motorcycle then veered out of control toward the east until it crashed into a Chevrolet that was parked along the north edge of Hueneme Road facing west.

CHP said the motorcycle caught on fire immediately after the crash with the motorcyclist trapped underneath.

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, the motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with major injuries.

Sadly, the hospital reported that the man died around 8:23 p.m. that evening.

CHP has identified the motorcyclist as 57-year-old Carnel from Agoura Hills.
