Actress Carmen Galin passed away on Friday at the age of 73.

“Carmen Galin has left us, an exceptional actress, a noble soul, an extraordinary man. Smooth road to the stars, Carmen, may God have you in His guard! ”, is the message that appeared on the Facebook page of singer Nicu Alifantis on Friday.

Carmen Galin would have turned 74 on Saturday, March 14th.

Carmen Galin was an actress known for her roles in plays, as well as for roles in cinematography. In 1995, the actress withdrew completely from her work and public life, devoting herself with discretion to humanitarian actions. In 2016, she received the excellence award of the Transilvania International Film Festival.

Carmen Galin graduated from the Institute of Theater and Cinematographic Art in 1967, as head of promotion, being the student of the teachers Sanda Manu, Ion Cojar, Dinu Negreanu and Mihai Mereuţă. She was a promotional colleague with Adela Mărculescu, Ioana Bulcă, Irina Mazanitis, Ilie Gheorghe, Sybilla Oarcea, Eusebiu Ştefănescu, Mitică Popescu and Cristina Stamate.

She performed on stage at the Youth Theater in Piatra Neamt (1967-1970), the National Theater in Cluj-Napoca (1970-1975), the Small Theater in Bucharest (1975-1990) and the National Theater in Bucharest (1990-1995).

Between the roles of film and theater that she has interpreted over time, there is the acrobat Fanny Marcelloni from "Saltimbancii", Cristina from "Sands of sand" (1983, directed by Dan Piţa), Sita, surmounted by "Tănase Scatiu "(1976, directed by Dan Piţa), one of the wives of the prophet, the negative character in" The Prophet, the Gold and the Transylvanians "(1978), Pica, the daughter of the titular character in" Bietul Ioanide "(1980, screenplay by George Călinescu), lawyer BB Mirea from "Nemesis's Secret" (1987, directed by Geo Saizescu), but also Electra from "Ancient Trilogy" by Andrei Şerban.
