Ludovica
Modugno died in her home town of Rome, Italy on October 26, 2021. She was 72. Born in Rome
on January 12, 1949 she was an Italian actress, voice actress and director of
dubbing. She was the sister of actor, voice actor, dubbing director, dialogue writer
and director Paul Modugno and wife of the actor and voice actor Gigi Angelillo.
As a child she participated in theatrical works with Olga Villi, Evi
Maltagliati, Otello Toso, Giulia Lazzarini and Espera Sperani She made her
debut at the age of 4 in the first scripted novel produced and broadcast in
Italy, Il dottor Antonio. After her debut in dubbing the film Marcellino
bread and wine in the child protagonist in the theater and just 7 years Alcestis
of Euripides , directed by Guido Salvini. In the cinema she made her
debut in Italian films in, Italiani, è severamente proibito servirsi
della toilette durante le fermate.
She
also participated in the most popular television dramas of the sixties including: Wuthering Heights, Ricordo la
mamma, Romanzo di un maestro, Il novelliere e ne La Pisana,
in the part of the child protagonist.
In
1978 she founded together with Gigi Angelillo the theater company "The
Tree, with which she produced and performed several shows, including Exercises in Style by Raymond Queneau and directed by Jacques Seiler,
who won the "Golden Ticket" in 1991. For the performances of L'una
ealtra and La careante , both directed by Cesare Lievi, she received
in 2008 the prize for best Italian theater actress from the National Theater
Critics Association.
