In the role of his life, he became his own brand. Now actor Horst Krause is dead. He died on Friday at the age of 83 in a retirement home in Teltow (Potsdam-Mittelmark), his family announced on Monday.

His actor colleague Roman Knižka wrote on Saturday evening at Instagram: "Hotte, you were a human being that can only exist once. (...). You make a heavy impression on our world, my friend. Your jokes were pretentious, your acting was not. I learned a lot from you. Thank you eternally. Listen, you will be missed, but stay."

BILD reaches Roman Knižka on the phone. He says: "Horst Krause has passed away, I am very sad about that. We had a close relationship, he was a mentor for me who accompanied me from the beginning of my career and supported me. We were very close and I will miss Horst."

Horst Krause had withdrawn from the public eye for a long time. According to BILD information, he suffered from various diseases. In the end, it was age. Krause is survived by a sister, three nephews and four nieces.

Horst Krause became cult in his role as village policeman Horst Krause, whom he embodied in no less than nine films from 2007 to 2022. The focus of the comedic stories was not on criminal cases, but on the private life of the police chief.

The motorcycle with sidecar became his trademark. Just like his grumpy manner, behind which he hid a big heart. Horst Krause plays Horst Krause.

The fact that the village policeman Horst Krause bears the same name as his actor goes back to an idea of director Bernd Böhlich (68). He said: “Why should the village policeman be called ‘Schulz’ if he looks like ‘Krause’? For me, it’s called Krause.”

The Krause films emerged as a side project from the crime series “Polizeiruf 110”, in which the actor was part of the Brandenburg team of investigators from 1996.

Horst Krause had his breakthrough in film in 1993 in the film "Wir kann auch anders ..." by director Detlev Buck (62) as Moritz "Most" Kipp in the leading role. For this he received the German Film Award. Since 1962, he has starred in over 120 film and television productions.

They were often eccentric characters who offended some people with their gruff manners, but under whose rough shell a soft core is hidden.

Krause described his idea of happiness as follows: "A good film shoot, for example, means happiness to me. Or a new friendly acquaintance. You have to be willing not to let the day overwhelm you, but to accept the day joyfully."

Neil Summers, a veteran Hollywood stuntman who transitioned into acting, has died at 81. The English-born performer was best known for playing The Rodent in the 1990 crime-action movie Dick Tracy, and Dougy in the 1987 sci-fi action film RoboCop. Summers died last Thursday at his home in Kanab, Utah, TMZ reported, citing family friend David Friedman. He is said to have been surrounded by loved ones. Though an official cause of death has not been released, Summers is believed to have died of natural causes, according to TMZ. Beyond Dick Tracy, Summers’ filmography also includes appearances in films like The Shawshank Redemption and My Name Is Nobody. He acted in numerous TV shows, including Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and The Fall Guy, according to his IMDb page. As a stuntman, he worked on set with Elvis Presley, John Wayne, and Clint Eastwood, according to Daily Mail. Among his credits are Holes, Bedazzled, U.S. Marshalls, Harry and the Hendersons, Howard the Duck, Better Off Dead, The Outlaw Josey Wales, El Dorado, and two Naked Gun films. Summers doubled for actors such as Warren Oates, Roddy McDowall, Michael Anderson Jr., and Michael J. Pollard. He is survived by his longtime partner, Karen, as well as his sister, niece, and nephew, TMZ reported.

Director, writer and critic, Jean-Pierre Bouyxou, enfant terrible of the arts, spent his youth in Bordeaux under the aegis of Pierre Molinier, and operated on at Sigma in the 1980s

If there is one man who has left his mark on the history of Bordeaux against his will, it is him, Jean-Pierre Bouyxou, who passed away on Tuesday, September 2. A troublemaker of the arts, born in January 1946, he was in turn an actor, director, journalist, critic... around the same idea, irreverence, summed up in the titles of his films, such as "Get your asses out of my commode" (1972), "Abuse after vamps" (1980) or the hallucinatory "Satan bouche un coin" (1968). This last short film was set in Bordeaux, his hometown, and more specifically in the bedroom of the sulphurous painter and photographer Pierre Molinier, the muse of his turbulent adolescence. In the Bouyxou galaxy, fantasy, horror, eroticism and jokes turned into a raging maelstrom.

Actor David Wilson Barnes, who played one of Miranda Hobbs' love interests on Sex and the City, has died at the age of 52 after a battle with cancer. Although he died on July 30, the news has only just been made public. It was confirmed on Facebook by the UC San Diego Department of Theatre and Dance Alumni Group. "It is with great sadness that I tell you that UC San Diego theatre alumnus, David Wilson Barnes, died on July 30, 2025. He lived a great life, loved by his fellow Triton, Monica, and was successful in theatre and film, but cancer took him from us. It was a privilege to have known him," they wrote.

Friends were quick to pay tribute upon reading the news. "Oh. I’m so sorry to see this news. Though it’s been years since college, I still remember the warmth and kindness they both shared. Sending love and strength to Monica and their family," one penned in the comments.

"Heartbreaking news. My love to Monica and all their family and friends," another added. A third chimed in: "So sorry Monica ... I and others will miss him greatly,"

"I am so sad to read this news. So so tragic. Rest well sweet David. Sending so much love to Monica." a fourth wrote.

Meanwhile, on X, Contemptible Entertainment simply posted his picture with the caption: "Legend (and friend). #davidwilsonbarnes #RIP #neillabute."

David was born in San Diego and met his wife, Monica Bill Barnes, at college at UC San Diego. He enjoyed an almost three-decade career on stage and screen.

David played Andrew, a Love interest for Miranda Hobbs, played by Cythia Nixon, in Sex and the City in 2003.

He also had TV roles in  Law & Order, 30 Rock, A Gifted Man, The Good Wife and Blue Bloods.

More recently, he appeared opposite Jessica Chastain in George and Tammy and also appeared in episodes of The Gilded Age.

On the big screen, he appeared in Capote, The Bourne Legacy and Bridge of Spies, to name just a few.

Graham Greene Dies: Oscar-Nominated ‘Dances With Wolves’ Actor Was 73

Graham Greene, a trailblazing Canadian First Nations actor who opened doors for Indigenous actors in Hollywood, died September 1 in a Stratford, Toronto hospital after a long illness. The Oscar nominee from Dances with Wolves was 73.

“He was a great man of morals, ethics and character and will be eternally missed,” Greene’s agent Michael Greene (no relation) said in a statement to Deadline. “You are finally free. Susan Smith is meeting you at the gates of heaven,” he added, referencing the actor’s longtime agent, who died in 2013.

Greene was born on June 22, 1952 in Ohsweken, on the Six Nations Reserve. He worked odd jobs before giving acting a go. Greene started on stage, and by the 1970s he was performing in Canadian and English professional theater productions.

He made his screen debut in 1979 in an episode of the Canadian drama series The Great Detective; his first movie was the 1983 Running Brave.

Greene’s big breakthrough came several years later when Kevin Costner cast him as Kicking Bird (Ziŋtká Nagwáka), one the main characters in his 1990 Western Dances with Wolves. The film landed 12 Academy Award nominations — including one for Greene as Best Supporting Actor — and won seven, including Best Picture.

Dances with Wolves launched Greene’s Hollywood career. He went on to appear in such high-profile features as Maverick (1994) with Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster, Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) with Bruce Willis, The Green Mile (1999) with Tom Hanks, The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as well as Aaron Sorkin’s Molly’s Game (2017) with Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba and Costner.

Graham also had main roles in Thunderheart (1992) opposite Val Kilmer, Transamerica (2005) opposite Felicity Huffman, and Taylor Sheridan’s Wind River (2017) opposite Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen.

Sheridan subsequently cast Greene in two of his series for Paramount+: 1883 and, most recently, Tulsa King.

Scott Spiegel, who co-wrote Evil Dead 2 with frequent collaborator Sam Raimi, has reportedly passed away at the age of 67.

Spiegel met Raimi and Bruce Campbell in junior high and went on to play the role of Scotty in Within the Woods, which served as a precursor to The Evil Dead.

In addition to writing Evil Dead 2, he served as a “Fake Shemp” in both The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2.

Spiegel would pop up in cameos in several of Raimi’s later efforts, including Darkman, The Quick and the Dead, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Outside his work with Raimi, Spiegel is known for writing and directing the 1989 slasher Intruder, inspired by his time working at a grocery store, as well as helming From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money and Hostel: Part III.

Spiegel also executive produced the Hostel franchise, co-wrote Clint Eastwood‘s The Rookie, produced 2001 Maniacs, and introduced Quentin Tarantino to producer Lawrence Bender, who helped get Reservoir Dogs made.

“This is a big personal loss,” Campbell wrote on Twitter. “Scott Spiegel was a huge part of my formative years back in Michigan. From Sunday School to being stock boys together, to Evil Dead II, which Scott co-wrote, I can’t look in the rear-view mirror without seeing this unique guy doing cheap gags.”

Campbell continued, “I’m grateful for the treasure trove of happy memories. Keep Shemping, Scott!”
