The Mexican entertainment world faces a new loss with the death of Flor Procuna, a renowned film and television actress, who died last Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the city of Guadalajara.
The news was confirmed by entertainment journalist Juan José Origel, who expressed his sorrow through social networks.
Procuna, remembered especially for her role as the villain 'Irma Ramos' in the iconic 1979 soap opera The Rich Also Cry, leaves a significant legacy in the entertainment industry.

The actress died at the age of 72, although so far the causes of death have not been announced.
"Today I wake up with another sad news, the death of a very dear friend, Flor Procuna. It was in the city of Guadalajara where she passed away. Apart from being beautiful, she was charming. My deepest condolences," the journalist wrote in his message.
Procuna's departure comes a few days after the death of Luis Couturier, another member of the cast of The Rich Also Cry.
The telenovela, starring Verónica Castro and Rogelio Guerra, marked a milestone in Mexican television and was broadcast in various countries, consolidating itself as a benchmark of the melodramatic genre.
A career marked by success in television and film
Born on May 20, 1952 in Mexico City, Flor Procuna Chamorro began her artistic career at the age of 16 with her participation in the telenovela Los inconformes in 1968.
Since then, her talent and charisma led her to be part of important productions both on television and in film. Among her most outstanding soap operas are Soledad, Rosa salvaje, Vanessa, Velo de novia and Tormenta en el paraíso.
In the film field, Procuna also left his mark with his participation in films such as Un toro de llama and Mi mesera, the latter with actors Julio Alemán and Renzo. His last appearance on television was in 2007, in the soap opera Tormenta en el paraíso.
The role of villain in Los ricos también lloran was one of the most remembered of her career. In this production, she played Verónica Castro's stepmother, consolidating herself as one of the most emblematic antagonists of Mexican television.
A family legacy linked to spectacle and tragedy
Flor Procuna came from a family closely linked to the world of entertainment. She was the daughter of the renowned bullfighter Luis Procuna and Consuelo Chamorro Bernard, who tragically died in a plane crash in 1995, when Aviateca flight GU-901 crashed.
In addition, her grandmother, Agustina Bernard, was a prominent theater actress in Nicaragua, which underscores the artistic influence that marked Flor's life from an early age.
