At 92 years old, actress Maria Sebaldt passed away. She passed away on April 4, according to a statement from Sebaldt's family released by ZDF on Wednesday. The Berlin native, who most recently resided in the Munich neighborhood, has already been buried, according the source. The "Bild" newspaper was the first to report on it.
The ZDF programs "I marry a family" and "The Wicherts from next door" from the 1980s and early 1990s were where she gained the majority of her fame. She portrayed Hannelore Wichert, the female lead, in the latter.
On April 25, 1930, Sebaldt was born in Berlin. At the Hebbeltheater there, she started her career in the 1950s. Sebaldt appeared in almost 50 movies in the first 10 years of her acting career, including "The Captain of Köpenick," "The Buddenbrooks," and "Charley's Aunt." Alongside Peter Alexander and Heinz Erhardt, she stood in front of the camera.
Sebaldt progressively shifted to television starting in the 1960s. She had multiple appearances in the ZDF criminal dramas "Der Kommissar," "Derrick," and "Der Alte" in the 1970s.
