Actress América Alonso dies at 86
This Sunday in the city of Miami, the star actress María Golajovski, known to all as América Alonso, passed away at the age of 86. Alonso was an outstanding actress who participated in plays, soap operas and movies. She was born in the former Yugoslavia, of Russian parents at a very young age she arrived in Venezuela. When she started in the world of acting, she changed her name to America, in honor of the continent that welcomed her and gave her opportunities to develop her talent. Among the film titles where she acted, the following stand out: "La Gata Borracha", "Una noche oriental" and "Seguro está el diablo". Her theatrical debut was in 1952 with Alejandro Casona's Nuestra Natacha. She also worked at the People's Theater. Later, she applied her acting skills in the National Television of Venezuela and participated in the launch of Radio Caracas Television in 1953. There have been many reactions on social networks, lamenting her departure. Here we leave a small sample.
