Farewell to Claudio Sorrentino, the historic Italian voice actor who died of Covid. Sorrentino, 76, actor, television host, was the 'Italian voice' of John Travolta, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke, just to name a few.
Sorrentino was president of the A.D.I.R. - Italian Gathered Voice Actors Association and advisor for Cinema and Entertainment of the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities.
Brother of the voice actress Liliana Sorrentino, he was born in Rome on 18 July 1945 and had started his voice dubbing actor as a child.
He was the voice of Richie Cunningham, Ron Howard, in Happy Days. Then Bruce Willis in "Die Hard - To Die Hard, Die Hard - Live or Die" and "Die Hard - A Good Day to Die". Or Sylvester Stallone in "Cop Land", as Willem Dafoe in "The Last Temptation of Christ".
How to forget the irresistible Ryan O'Neal in Love Story. Many more: he also voiced Jeff Bridges, Geoffrey Rush, GĂ©rard Depardieu, Daniel Day-Lewis and Russell Crowe.
In the seventies he was Mickey Mouse, in the eighties he was in the team of hosts of the Rai2 Tandem program, with Fabrizio Frizzi.
Then author and host between 1995 and 2000 of the radio broadcast "The Sounds of Cinema", linked to his world of film dubbing.
